On Monday, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and the Governor of Ondo State, revealed that the Northern Governors’ Forum was simply exercising its right to freedom of expression regarding its stance on the 2023 presidency.

The agreement reached by the northern governors, who unanimously denounced the Southern Governors Forum’s stance that the Presidency must go to the South, should be viewed as a manner of expressing themselves, according to Akeredolu.

“They have stated and certainly exercised their rights under Freedom of Expression,” Akeredolu said in response to the Northern Governors’ Forum resolutions. No one has the power to stop people from speaking their minds.”

In Enugu State a few days ago, the Southern Governors’ Forum reaffirmed their conviction that the president must return to the south in 2023.
