Anambra PDP Guber Candidate, Ozigbo Calls For Release Of Nnamdi Kanu

Mr Valentine Ozigbo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Anambra State’s next election, has urged for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

On Sunday, Ozigbo made the request while speaking at the Anambra Broadcasting Service’s (ABS) 2021 Anambra gubernatorial debate in Awka.

Ozigbo was present at the debate with Col. Geoffrey Onyejegbu (Rtd) of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Dr Chidozie Nwankwo of the African Action Congress (AAC), and Chief Akachukwu Nwankpo of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) (ADC).

Ozigbo stated that Kanu should be released by the APC-led federal government and that the calls for secession should be addressed in a nonviolent and diplomatic manner.

“Indeed, Nnamdi Kanu should be released until we address the underlying cause of the agitation,” he remarked.

“When it comes to problem solutions, I constantly look for the underlying causes.”
We cannot handle an issue by addressing the symptoms; instead, dealing with the fundamental cause is the most effective strategy to address any crisis.

“What’s the fuss about?” If you think closely about it, you’ll realize that it’s because Nigeria isn’t working.
Our leaders have let us down. The area is filled with a sense of pessimism as a result of inadequate administration.

“There is a lot we need to do to bring Nigeria back on track.” Inadequate road networks, deteriorating infrastructure, failed social systems, a disastrous healthcare sector, a dwindling economy, a lack of chances, and several other indications of poor governance raise the question, “Is there any reason to be a part of Nigeria, anyway?” Ozigbo stated.

Ozigbo advocated for a new approach to leadership as a route out of the current predicament.
He stated that, among other things, Nigeria must focus on increasing the country’s competitiveness.

“Nepotism must be eradicated, and competency must be entrenched.” “We must restructure Nigeria so that it is more just, competitive, and inclusive,” Ozigbo argued.

The PDP candidate, who is one of the leading candidates in the upcoming election, took advantage of the chance to present what he called his revolutionary proposals for transforming the state in education, healthcare, the economy, social services, and other critical human development indices.
