Arese Ugwu has been named to the MIPAD 100 Class of 2021 List of the Most Influential People of African Descent.
Ugwu, whose award-winning Smart Money Woman Book was adapted into a television series, announced the news on Instagram.
She stated, ”
It’s an honor to be named one of the 2021 Creative 100 Edition’s Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) for excellent contribution in the creative sector and commitment to EXCELLENCE.
The Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) 100 is a global civil society movement in support of the United Nations General Assembly resolution 68/237 declaring the International Decade for People of African Descent.
MIPAD publishes a unique global 100 list that recognizes outstanding individuals or groups of African descent around the world, pairing those in the Diaspora with their counterparts in Africa in four categories: politics and governance, business and entrepreneurship, media and culture, and humanitarian and religious, as well as themed editions.
On October 3rd, 2021, during the commencement of the 76th Annual United Nations General Assembly in New York City, the Most Influential 100 Class of 2021 Recognition & Awards Ceremony, hosted by CNN’s Zain Asher, was held.
