Nigerian actor, Lanre Omiyinka a.k.a Baba Ijesha is likely to bag life imprisonment following his despicable act.
The actor who defiled, assaulted and raped a minor would soon be charged to court.
According to a statement by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for justice Moyosore Onigbanjo, the pedophile has been levelled with a prima facie case by the Directorate of Public Persecution (DPP).
DPP recommended charging him under the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Baba Ijesha is to be tried under the following sections:
Section 135 _ indecent treatment of a child punishable by seven years imprisonment;
Section 261 – sexual assault by penetration punishable by life imprisonment;
Section 262 – attempted sexual assault by penetration punishable by 14 years imprisonment and
Section 263 – sexual assault punishable by three years imprisonment.
While the State would ensure Lanre rights as enshrined in the Constitution are upheld, the Ministry of Justice would not persist in it’s efforts in ensuring that sexual abusers in Lagos State are arrested and made to face the law.
Since April 30, his case has been transferred to DPP.
Baba Ijesha was accused of rape by Comedian Princess, who alleged that he has been sleeping with her foster daughter since ahe was seven. Since then, the actor has been reprimanded in a Lagos State prison awaiting trial.
