Whether it is due to aging or underlying skin condition,or environmental factors; having dry skin could be irritating, itching and uncomfortable.

If your skin is always feeling dry and itchy, it means your skin loads moisture easily. The most common symptoms of a dry skin are itchiness, scaly skin, skin tightness, dry patches, dry rashes, irritation and so on. Most times, your change in environment or weather conditions can also be a contributing factor to this skin condition.

Knowing how much of a problem it is to manage dry skin, since there is no moisturizer variant of tropical cream that seems to work at the long run, I have curated some Do It Yourself home remedies to help relieve your dry skin.

Those with normal or oily skin types can also need this, because dry patches can develop from time to time on your face.

1) Sunflower Seed Oil : Study has shown that sunflower seed oil helps improve hydration.

Tips : Use it on your arms and the affected areas.

2) Coconut Oil : It has emollient properties which helps to improve skin hydration and increase the number of lipids (fats) on the skin surface.

Tip : Massage oil on the soles of your feet before going to bed at night. You can apply it even when you shower or not.

3) Rose Water : It soothes and moisturises your skin while balancing PH levels making it the best choice for dry skin.

Tip : Whenever your skin gets dry and itchy, just dab a big of rose water and it will help soothe the area. You can also add the water to a spray bottle which you can carry along with you.

4) Oath Meal Bath :  Adding powdered oatmeal to your bath or using creams that contains oatmeal would help to relieve dry skin.

5) Milk : It is a great option to treat your skin at home as it contains Lactic acid that helps to soothe dry skin.

6) Avocado Oil : It is very rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and has a large amount of vitamins. It is very suitable for reducing signs of ageing.

Tip : Mix 2 parts rice water with 1 part rose water and use as face mask.

10) Shea Butter : It has a high concentration of fatty acids and vitamins along with anti- inflammatory and healing properties which helps nourish your skin.
