Otunba Bisi Kolawole, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State’s immediate past chairman, has filed his expression of interest and nomination form to run for governor in 2022.
The forms were purchased at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja over the weekend by his campaign’s Director General, Segun Adekola, and two former House of Representatives members, Kehinde Agboola and Ayo Oladimeji, as well as the campaign’s Media and Publicity Directors, Lere Olayinka and Ariyo Afolabi.
Former Governor Ayo Fayose has endorsed Kolawole, who resigned his job as chairman to run for governor.
Adekola described Ekiti as a “PDP State that was kidnapped at gunpoint by persons with no love for the State,” according to the Campaign Director of Media and Publicity.
“Our quest to reclaim Ekiti State has begun, and with God and the people on our side, Otunba Bisi Kolawole will be addressed as Ekiti State Governor-Elect by this time next year,” he added.
“We in Bisi Kolawole’s campaign team are certain of receiving the party ticket and are already looking forward to the election in July next year.
“It is thus a guarantee from us that a Bisi Kolawole governorship will restore Ekiti on the path of progress and development that was snatched from the state in 2018.”
The Campaign Director General praised Fayose for his support and commitment to Bisi Kolawole’s governorship bid, saying, “For the love they have for Fayose, the people of Ekiti can not wait to use their votes to deliver the state for the PDP and Kolawole.”
