The world’s largest social networking platforms have shut down.
Since 4:39 p.m. on Monday, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook have been experiencing massive outages all around the world.
The three apps — all of which are under Mark Zuckerberg’s control.
Visitors to the WhatsApp website are seeing a 5xx Server Error, and the company’s other apps are also down at the same time.
As at the time we were putting this report together, Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp are all down. This has sparked outrage on twitter. Some ardent users of Facebook fears it m ight be a cyber attack as an annonymous user claimed for weeks now, Facebook has been restricting ad accounts.
WhatsApp confirmed the issue on their verified Twitter account, stating that the company is aware of the problem and is trying to restore service.
“We’re aware that some folks are having problems with WhatsApp right now. We’re attempting to restore normalcy and will provide an update as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your patience!”
We seriously hope the issues can be fixed as soon as possible. Recall that this is not the first time the different social media platforms have been down but they all didnt go down all at once.
