FG extends work from home directive for junior civil servants till June 11

The Federal Government has extended the virtual work directive which was enforced on civil servants.


The civil servants from Grade Level 12 and below, have been instructed to remain at home till June 11.

FG reintroduces new COVID-19 restrictions rules



The Presidential Steering Committe on COVID-19 who are domiciled in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation gave this directives to the commission. The PSC stated that those affected should remain working from their homes till June 11, after which the directive would be reviewed.



PSC’s National Incident Manager, Mukhtar Mohammed said:


“All Government staff on GL. 12 and below are to continue to stay at home until 11th June, 2021”.



The Federal Government in a bid to curb the rapid spread of COVID 19 had enforced a work from home directive in Dec 22, 2020 for civil servants below Grade 12.



In April 7, the Head of Service of the Federation, Folashade Yomi Esan had disclosed that there was an extension of the directive till the end of April. Officers on this level where initially directed to continue working from home till the end of March 2021 as part of measures to sustain the increase and spread of COVID 19.

“Further to that directive and following the advice of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, especially with regard to maintaning the reduction of reported cases, the earlier work from home directives is hereby extended till the end of April, 2021”, she said.
