Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, the Senate Minority Leader, has been attacked by Femi Adesina, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

Senator Abaribe, according to Adesina, should be imprisoned for supporting “someone set on dismembering Nigeria.”

In 2017, Abaribe from Abia South acted as a guarantee for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

On April 25, 2017, an Abuja Federal High Court granted Kanu bail after the legislator and two others took a stand.

However, Kanu skipped bail and fled Nigeria the same year, causing problems for the Senate Minority Leader.

Since then, the pro-Biafra activist has been re-arrested and is being held by the Department of State Services, or DSS.

Adesina, on the other hand, accused Abaribe of using “foul language against people in leadership” while supporting those pushing for Nigeria’s disintegration in a veiled reaction.

He held surety for someone set on tearing the country apart, and even when that person vanished and he should have been cooling his heels in prison, the Senator continues to spew nonsense. Our diversity’s top’mismanager.’
