“No Politician Is As Close To The Monarchs As Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, Says Ikorodu Monarch



Lagos monarch, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, has reiterated the support of the traditional stools for the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, if he declares to run for the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It could be recalled that traditional rulers in Lagos State had earlier endorsed the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for the 2023 presidency.


Speaking during a Pre-visit of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023 (SWAGA’23) to his palace, Oba Shotobi declared that “it is payback time for Asiwaju who has stood by others and pushed for the development of South-West region and Nigeria at large”.

The monarch declared his support for the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, saying that “after the administration of the Governor i wil be at the frontline to push for an Ikorodu Governor”.


While praying for the former Lagos state Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ayangburen declared that “no politician is as close to the monarchs as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

The Lagos State SWAGA’23 delegation include the Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu Chief Bayo Osiyemi, Primate Charles Odugbesi, Hon. Kola Peregrino, Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, Hon. Ahmed Olaufe, Primate Charles Odugbesi, noted that the week-long Event will kick-off on Sunday, October 3, but “it is important to pay a Pre-visit to the Ayangburen of Ikorodu kingdom having been privy to his schedules”.


Taking their turns to speak about the pedigree of the proclaimed National leader, the notable leaders of Ikorodu appraised the leadership of Tinubu joining others to call on him to contest for the Presidency seat.

In his vote of thanks, a member of the Apex leadership of SWAGA’23, Hon. Kola Peregrino, recalled that “some Nigerian politicians have botched the chances of the South-West to produce a popular presidential candidate every 30 years from Awolowo to Abiola.”

He urged the monarch to persuade his colleagues to teem up and stand by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President.


Also on the visitation are the Local Government chairmen and all the Vice Chairmen in Ikorodu Division. Also present are:
Hon. Wasiu Adeshina; Alhaji Monsuru Olowoshago, Oriwu Sun, Otunba Tijani Sunkanmi, Hon. Maja Okeshina amongst others.
