Chiwetalu Agu, a veteran Nollywood actor, has backed the call for Nigeria to split in order for peace to reign.
This was stated by Chiwetalu Agu when chatting with Broadway Tv.
Remember how the actor was detained by soldiers in Onitsha, Anambra State, for donning Biafra regalia?
He was subsequently transferred to DSS detention in Abuja, where he remained for several days until being released.
When asked if he supports Nigeria’s secession, Chiwetalu Agu responded, “We all must rise, I advocated that everyone should rise from their place wherever they are with my outfit.”
“My costume was the rising sun, not Biafra; Ojukwu popularized the rising sun as a symbol for Igbos who wish to progress.”
When you look at Africa, Igbos are at the top due to their own efforts, not those of the government.
“The government has done nothing for the Igbo guy; they are attempting to do better on their own.”
“The sooner we divide as a country, the better. Fulani ‘Buhari’ people account for 98 percent of the workforce. Nothing has been placed on the Igbo man.
“Benue is in shambles; people are being killed there, but they want Fulani herders to continue doing their business.”
“It’s draconian; you can’t force people in such a large country.” To achieve a peaceful approach in this country, we need to mobilize our people from the same tribe.”
Chiwetalu Agu clarified his arrest, saying he was not tortured while being questioned by senior army commanders before being transferred to DSS custody.
“They interviewed me for an entire day, the senior army commanders were cordial, and they did not obtain anything damning from my phone before handing me over to DSS.”
“They did not mistreat me until I arrived in the Abuja office, where I stayed for two days.”
“I’m a child of God, I’m not a criminal,” he claimed, adding that “everything they saw in my phone was all about God, humanity, and nothing damning.”
