Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called for dialogue between Kano State Government and commercial tricycle operators, saying that the strike by the latter is negatively affecting economic activities in the state.
Chairman of PDP in the state, Shehu Wada-Sagagi, made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday in Kano.
“Kano is known for various commercial activities on daily basis and tricycles are one of the means of transportation within the metropolis.
“They cater for at least 80 per cent of the routine movements within the metropolitan city.
“PDP, therefore, wishes to stress that the state government should, as a matter of urgency, address this issue,” he said.
According to Mr Wada-Sagagi, allowing the situation to linger on can degenerate into chaos and thus disturb the prevailing peace in the state.
