Former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki has challenged the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State’s new state executive council to begin work immediately on recapturing political power in the state in 2023.
On Saturday, he remarked following the inauguration of the party’s new executive council in Ilorin, “the struggle for Kwara begins today, let commitment be your watchword.”
“As you begin your stay in office, let the campaign begin with your election today at the ward, local government, and state levels.”
“The task before of us is significant,” he said.
Saraki praised the exercise’s peaceful conduct, saying it was a strong signal that the party is growing stronger with a common bond for a successful takeover of government in 2023.
“The calm conduct of this congress has reaffirmed to me that we are indeed prepared to retake control of Kwara.”
“I charge all of our party’s new state officers to get to work immediately to return the PDP to power in 2023 and reposition Kwara state,” he said.
Former Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed, former Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi, former PDP National Chairman Abubakar Kawu Baraje, Razaq Atunwa, Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim, Abubakar Kanike, and Ambassador Gana Yisa were among those present at the congress.
