“Please stop with the Desmond Elliot jokes,it’s annoying”,Toyin Abraham vents

Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has berated Nigerians over their silly jokes which is aimed at actor and politician, Desmond Elliot.

The actor, has been trending online as Netizens drag him as the cause of all the bad occurrence going on the country. In recent times, the country has recorded countless reports of mishaps, deaths, kidnapping and abduction which has made many terrified. Netizens are using this as an opportunity to drag the actor.

Last year, the actor made an infamous comments where he savagely called out the youths of Nigerians. He referred to them as children who are found of cursing during his plenary session of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Desmond who was speaking on why Nigeria needs a social media regulation said that during the #EndSARS protest, the youth who he referred to as children where cursing the government.

In reference to his silly remarks, social media users have been having a field day filthily dragging him as the main social problem of Nigeria.

In reaction to this, Toyin Abraham took to her Twitter page to beg Netizens to stop bashing him. The post which has since been deleted receiving mixed reactions from Twitter users.

Her tweet reads:

Please can we all stop with this Desmond Elliot jokes pls is actually annoying now. I feel if we continue with this joke then…kilode gan”.

Her post generated lots of criticisms and negative response as Twitter users threatened to drag her too.

A Twitter users commented on her tweet,asking her if she wants to get dragged by them.

He wrote:

Mummu you wan subscribe for dragging”.

Following the backlash, the actress revealed that she was not in support of the actor’s actions  but just want Nigerians to tread with caution so that the government would not see them as being unserious.

“I dont support him but the joke now is annoying cos we need to be more serious, so people can see we are serious”.
