Police Apprehend Kidnappers After They Demanded N5m To Release Abducted Child

Two guys have been detained after allegedly kidnapping a toddler in Adamawa State and demanding N5 million for the youngster’s release.

On Monday night, it was learned that the suspects, Muhammed, 28, and Aliyu Alhaji Aliyu, 55, kidnapped the eight-year-old boy and demanded a N5 million ransom from his parents.

The suspects, who are claimed to be citizens of Niger State’s Lambata Local Government Area, were apprehended in Adamawa State by the State Police Command.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s image-maker, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects were apprehended on October 3, 2021, by command operatives assigned to the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) in Yola.

According to Nguroje, on October 1, 2021, the operatives acted on a report submitted by the abducted boy’s father, Alhaji Hamisu Sule, a resident of Lafiya village in Fufore LGA.

According to Nguroje, the suspects brought the youngster to Niger State and demanded a ransom from there, but the police were able to apprehend the culprits at the point of ransom collection back in Adamawa State and rescue the boy.
