Police Apprehends Two Foreigners, Recover Explosives, Other Dangerous Weapons

According to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, two foreigners were caught carrying explosives and other dangerous weapons.

The accused are Cameroonians, according to the command’s spokesman, SP Odiko Mcdon, who stated this on Tuesday while speaking to press at the police headquarters in Uyo, the state capital.

The suspects were identified by the PPRO as Adede De Black, Fombutu, and a Nigerian guy named Bernard Mfam, all of whom were from the Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State.

According to a police spokesman, the suspects were apprehended as a result of the efforts of men from the AIG Border Patrol Squad during a stop and search operation along the Okobo-Oron route.

He stated that among the goods seized were two packs of dynamite (explosives), charms, and other deadly weaponry that had been transported to an unspecified location.

The PPRO went on to say that the suspects were apprehended thanks to new innovations in the security architecture pioneered by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Amegieme Andrew, in conjunction with other security agencies in the state.

While assuring people of the safety of their lives and property throughout the state, the State Police Command requested sustained support from stakeholders to make the work of securing Akwa Ibom simpler.
