Police Deploys Operatives As Restive Youths Attack Ngurore Station In Adamawa, Kidnap Residents

According to the Adamawa State Police Command, agents have been dispatched to restore order after youths assaulted the Ngurore Police Station in Yola South Local Government Area and kidnapped two residents.

In a statement issued Sunday morning, the police command stated that it was acting as part of the ongoing concerted efforts to restore public order in Ngurore town and its environs.

According to the statement, this was in response to “the terrible attack on Ngurore police station and House of Alhaji Umaru of Nasarawo B that culminated in the kidnapping of Hawwa Umaru and her daughter in the early hours of Sunday.”

According to the statement, which was signed by DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, ordered the deployment of additional operational assets to restore order.

The deployed elements were identified as Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Crack Squad, and Anti-Kidnapping squads, according to the statement.

“The operational units are expected to conduct confidence-building patrols within the hotspots in coordinated operations with the heroic soldiers on the ground to rescue the kidnapped victims and apprehend the perpetrators,” police stated.

The Head of the Police Intervention Team, SP Babagana Abubakar, is already on the ground directing Police investigation, operational, and rescue efforts, according to the statement.

“The CP urges individuals to conduct themselves in the most peaceful and law-abiding manner possible, and to report any suspicious person(s) in their communities to the police,” the statement stated.
