President Buhari appoints new Chief of Army Staff

President Buhari has appointed a new Chief of Army Staff.

Major General Farouk Yahaya has been appointed the new COAS following the death of the former precedessor ,Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, who died in an Ill fated military air crash last Friday, May 21.

Prior to his appointment, Major General Farouk Yahaya was the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and the incumbent. Theatre Commander of the Counter terrorism, Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East code names Operation HADIN KAI.
