See List of 159 Newly Approved Radio And Television Stations In Nigeria

The operation of 159 radio and television stations in Nigeria has been allowed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has published a list of the 159 licenses given to businesses, municipalities, and educational organizations.

The NBC ACT, Cap. N11, Laws of the Federation 2004, established the Commission with the responsibility to oversee and control the broadcasting industry, according to a statement signed by its Director-General, Balarabe Ilelah, on September 4, 2021.

In its 29 years of operation, the broadcasting regulatory organization said that it has successfully carried out its basic functions of licensing, monitoring, and regulating the entire broadcasting industry in Nigeria.

Nigeria now has 625 operational broadcast stations, according to the commission.
