Suspected robber beaten to death by angry mob

A furious mob have beaten a suspected robber to death in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.

It was gathered that a three man hang allegedly attacked a Point of Sale operator along Erepa Road and carted away with an undisclosed sum of money.

According to an eye witness, the suspected robbers were trying to escape with the stolen money but met their Waterloo when they had an accident with the tricycle used for the operation.

The robbers in a bid to scare the public, fired several gunshots, but the mob remain unfazed and overpowered them.

One of the robbers was fortunate to flee from the angry mob while another met his death as he was mercilessly beaten by the mob, the last of the trio was rescued by the police who intervened.
