Mr Waziri Enwongulu, the Legal Adviser for the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Wakama Ward in Nasarawa State, has been attacked by thugs.
Enwongulu said he doesn’t know why unidentified persons attacked him and set fire to his brother’s house in Wakama on Saturday when APC officials and stakeholders paid him a visit, according to NAN.
“Around 1 a.m. today, I heard voices at my door telling me to come out or they’ll set fire to my elder brother’s house, including me.”
“I saw four people with knives, cutlasses, and large sticks when I came out of the home.”
“They told me that the APC tampered with the results of the Wakama ward chairmanship and councillorship elections.” They requested me to lie down, and when I did, two of the men guarded me while the other two went to my elder brother’s (Mr Paul Angbazo) house, where I was staying, and set it on fire.
“As you can see, everything was burned,” he explained, “but I thank God for saving my life.”
The unidentified males have allegedly threatened to kill Enwongulu, according to Enwongulu.
He went on to say that the unnamed males also asked him for money, “but I told them that I didn’t have any.”
Mr Usman Gboble, the Chairman of the APC in the region, sympathized with Enwongulu and told him to keep praying.
He stated that the party will report the incident to the proper authorities, who would then take the right measures.
The Nasarawa State Independent Eelectoral Commission announced on Oct. 7 that the APC had won all 13 chairperson posts and 147 councillorship positions in the local government election held on Oct. 6.
