“We were in Singapore for a meeting with people from all around the world, and I was assigned to deliver a series of speeches.

“When I finished the series, one of the preachers came up to me and asked whether I knew what my name, William, meant. I replied that I had never considered it.

“In fact, when I was a young Anglican and getting ready to be christened, my father asked me what Christian name I would like to have. I stated that I would want to be known as Johnson.”

“In our town, there was a Johnson who was very vocal, fiery, bold, and fearless, and I have grown to like him.”

“It was decided that I would take on the role of Johnson. Then we arrived at the church, where the ceremony was in progress, and the minister announced, “He shall be called William.”

“I was perplexed as to why I had to go by that name,” he explained.

Kumuyi continued, “It wasn’t long after I was converted in 1964 and became a Preacher, traveling Teacher, and Evangelist that we got to this meeting in Singapore where this minister who had studied the meanings of names and had checked the root and etymology of my name for one reason or another had checked the root and etymology of my name for one reason or another had checked the root and etymology of my name for one reason or another

“He informed me that your name means DEFENDER OF THE FAITH, and that what I did in Singapore was prophetic, and that he prayed with me. Since then, I’ve become more aware of the fact that God has called me.”

“I said “called me” since I had known and understood who God is since 1952, even though I was born in 1941. I prayed God for a solution when I was 11 years old, telling Him that if it was going to be this way, let it be this way, and if it was going to be that way, let it be that way. What I told the Lord happened, and I’ve been highly aware of God’s presence and guidance since 1952.”

“Then, in 1964, I heard the gospel preached in a very simple way: God loves humanity, and everyone regardless of their status, background, or religion, because the Bible says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

“All I was attempting to do until that time was live a good and virtuous life, an upright life above board and reproach, but it dawned on me that day that I couldn’t save myself, that I couldn’t pull myself up by my bootstraps.”

“So on April 5th, I exclaimed to the Lord, You have sent our Lord Jesus Christ not just to redeem humanity, but also to save me. So I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus. Everyone who knew me at my alma mater, Mayflower School, under Tai Solarin at the time, could see that I had undergone a genuine transition, and the school was well aware of it.”

“Eventually, I moved forward, reading books, and someone, Reverend Mellor of the Methodist Church handed over to me the writings of John Wesley, and I began to read and read, and I consecrated myself because I saw how John Wesley went all over England and Europe, defending the faith, even though I didn’t know the meaning of my name William at the time,” Kumuyi said of his spiritual growth.”

“I told God that if You could use a man like that at that time, You can use me as well. I stumbled found a single line that completely changed my perspective.”

“Give me a hundred men who fear nothing but sin and love nothing but God, and we shall turn the world upside down,” John Wesley remarked. That was something I considered. Is it possible for you to be like John Wesley? After that, I came across the literature of Charles G. Finney and was asked whether I wanted to be like him. I answered the phone because I knew it was from God, not from them.”

“I answered, Lord, give me a hundred men who love nothing but God and dread nothing but sin, and we will flip the world upside down, to face and address the challenge John Wesley outlined.”

“So I accepted the task, and on August 3rd, 1953, we established the ministry with 15 individuals.
We progressed from there to where we are now.”

“As I began to see that we can be transformed and become what God wants us to be, He gave us the Lord Jesus as a model and example for us to follow. I used to say I want to be like John Wesley, but later, I wanted to be like Jesus, who is Master, Saviour, Preacher, Teacher, Evangelist, and everything.”

“By God’s help, I progressed from being a teacher to an evangelist, to a pastor, and a little bit of the life of an apostle, and miracles began to happen: eyes were opened, and the lame sprang up and began to walk. We also witnessed the resurrection of the dead on a few instances.”

“And now, thanks to the media, we’ve discovered that Jesus Christ indicated that anyone who believes in Him will do the same acts He did, and even greater works, because He is going to the Father.”

“A centurion came to Jesus to ask for healing for his palsied servant, and he told Jesus not to come to his house but only to mouth the word, and his servant would be healed.”

“Healing can be accomplished in a variety of methods, including the laying on of hands, anointing with oil, and two of us agreeing that the Lord will give whatever we seek.”

“There is also the ministry of “just saying the word,” and my servant will be cured. In my ministry, the Lord has taken advantage of this element. Now we have what we call the Global Crusade, in which we connect with individuals from all over the world, and cancer and other ailments have been cured simply by praying from Nigeria. We also saw an instance of an entire family becoming afflicted with the Covid 19 epidemic, and after praying for them online, they went for tests the next day and were completely cured.”

“We’ve seen HIV/AIDS, cancer, and a variety of other illnesses treated, but my prayer this morning is that I want to be like Jesus, and I’d like to throw it to you today, because God has no regard for people.
Give me a hundred men who dread nothing but sin and love nothing but God, and we can turn the world upside down, declared John Wesley.”

“Here we are, we are over a hundred, if you can make up your minds on getting back home since you may not be able to accomplish it fully here, you will tell the Lord, I want to be like Jesus with all my heart and soul, and the Lord will make it happen.”

“I have had experiences in teaching in the secular world complex Mathematics variables, and there are many of my pupils who have gone beyond me,” Kumuyi stated of his future ambitions. I occasionally run into former pupils who are now Professors, Engineers, or Doctors who know things I don’t.”

“In Christianity, I want to do this to raise people who will go beyond me. We can even begin here by saying, “Lord, whatever you have done through, through, and with this man, do it through me.”

“A man or a woman surrendering to the Lord Jesus Christ and saying, Lord, here I am, I am available.”
I love no one except You, and I despise nothing more than sin; use me as You see fit, and the Lord will see to it.”

“Then, beyond John Wesley, we can say, “Give me a thousand individuals, a million people who love God with all their hearts and souls, and we can turn the world upside down.”
We’ve got this!”

“We will begin in our city, nation, and continent of Africa, and who knows, we may be able to transform the world by His grace, love, and mercy, with our commitment and consecration, and devoting everything we have to Him.”

Someone from London was interviewing me three weeks ago because he wanted to join our crusade.
“You are already 80 years old, what do you still have to do?” he asked.

“I explained to him that 80 is just a number. Putting that aside, your dedication, vision, and love for God are as youthful as your dedication, vision, and love for God. The Lord will answer your prayers if you can dedicate your life to God and say you want to make an impact and touch others before you depart the world stage.”

“Moses began at the age of 80, and I am only at the age of 80, so who knows how far we can yet go?”
We can do it if you and I work together, knowing well well that the globe, our people, and this generation need us.”

“Don’t just read this book KUMUYI to admire it; read it to embrace it, because, as we’ve stated, God is no respecter of persons, and if you can say it, God who did this through this man can do far more through you.”
